Blaklez Shares His Thoughts On The Impact PTA Rappers Have Had Vs Jhb Rappers In SA Hip Hop. Rapper Blaklez has experienced a lot of moments in the South Ah hip hop industry throughout his career. In a tweet, the rapper reminisced about the impact that Johannesburg rappers have had on South Ah hip hop verse Pretoria rappers.

In his tweet, Blaklez said, “Jhb Hip Hop was all Le Club/Slaghuis. That’s their pass. PTA, we’re State Theatre certified”. Blaklez in his tweet spoke on how Pta rappers have elevated the game with state theatre rap compared to Joburg rappers who are known for dominating the show and club scene. Whilst the rapper could have a solid point, his point is a debatable one as all rappers are proud of their cities achievements in the rap game.

A few tweeps agreed with Blaklez’s point and began to recall their memories of battles and cyphers that they witnessed. One tweep tweeted, “yooooh mara ungenzani Joe, MEMORIES MEMORIEEEES 2007 was lit….battles & cyphers. I remember there was clothing store somewhere there called #TheHipHopJoint snap backs n fitted caps FireFireFireFireFire”. Another tweep, who also witnessed Pta rappers battle it out shared, “Di cypher tsa Friday after school ko sammy marks”. Even rapper Emtee, who is a Joburg rapper agreed with Blaklez’s statement and retweeted the rapper’s tweet and said “No cap. Pray for us.”.

Rappers such as 25K, A-Reece and Focalistic are just some of the rappers, who hail from Pretoria, who are repping their city proud. 25K and A-Reece recently collaborated on a track together, Hustlers Prayer, they are gearing up to drop the track’s visuals. When 25K shared a picture of A-Reece and himself, he simply captioned the picture “Pitori’s finest”, showing love to their city.

The Pitori rapper often speaks out on issues affecting the SA hip hop industry. He previously shared his views on the South Ah hip hop industry having a cut off age for rappers. The rapper shared this on J.Cole’s 36th birthday, Blaklez retweeted a tweet, wishing J Cole a happy birthday. Blaklez said that if J Cole was a local rapper he would be called an OG in the streets and people would be telling him to make way for younger rappers.

“They’d be calling him “OG” and asking him to make way for younger dudes if he was from South Africa,” tweeted Blaklez. His statement was supported by Motswako rapper Khuli Chana who responded and said facts and called the country a joke. Blaklez then shared how this is “Some of the worst mentalities in our industry bruv. Terrible”.
