DJ Speedsta Celebrates His Return To The SA Hip Hop Charts
DJ Speedsta recently dropped a single with Zoocci Coke Dope and LucasRaps called Pardon My French. The hip hop track is DJ Speedsta’s latest offering and was highly anticipated by his fans because it has been a minute since the DJ dropped some heat. DJ Speedsta is known to bring the heat when it comes to his music and Pardon My French is no different and it’s even climbing the radio charts.
DJ Speedsta retweeted a tweet from radio station 5FM about the station’s latest Hip Hop chart with Smash Afrika. On the chart, DJ Speedsta’s track is number 6, which is a noteworthy achievement for the hip hop DJ. Speedsta wrote, “been a minute since I smelt the charts”, he also said that he appreciates the support. Whilst it has been a minute since Speedsta “smelt the charts” he is no stranger to the charts.
The radio presenter dropped, Pardon My French around some controversy after he went on a Twitter rant and called rapper Cassper Nyovest “weak”. Speedsta’s rant on Twitter did take the spotlight away from the release for a slight second. However, it seems, it was not enough to stop the track from being successful on the charts and streaming platforms such as Spotify, where it has been streamed over 20 000 times.
DJ Speedsta’s collaborator Zoocci Coke Dope was one person who was not pleased with DJ Speedsta for stirring up some drama before they dropped their new track. Zoocci tweeted that he told Speedsta to stop having drama around the music he is involved in as they now had to drop “beautiful song around some fck sht”. Zoocci wrote in his tweet, “i TOLD SPEEDSTA TO STOP HAViNG DRAMA AROUND ANY MUSiC I’M ON LAST YEAR ALREADY. NOW WE HAVE TO DROP A BEAUTiFUL SONG AROUND SOME FCK SHT. YALL DONT KNOW WHOS WHO iN THE ZOO AND YOU THiNK WE ALL OPERATE FROM THE SAME CODES AND WE DONT.”
After DJ Speedsta dropped the track Cassper shared on Twitter several tweets promoting DJ Speedsta’s new song. Cassper’s fans told him to not share the DJ’s music as he was promoting him but Cass saw no problem promoting “struggling artists” music. “I know, ngwana batho wa sokola. Let’s all do our part in helping lesego bafethu. Did you download the song at least or add one streamnyana? Go mashwe kana,” tweeted the rapper.
