Meek Mill Receives Nelson Mandela Humanitarian Award. US rapper Meek Mill has received the Nelson Mandela Foundation Humanitarian Award. The rapper was given the award at the PTTOW! in Los Angeles. PTTOW! according to their website is an invite-only member network and summit that brings together leaders, from the world’s most innovative companies, along with cultural icons who are shaping today’s culture.

Meek Mill took to social media to show off his latest achievement with a picture of his award. “I got “the Nelson Mandela humanitarian award” Thank you Rip to the great Nelson Mandela. “I ain’t grow up playing ball I had a smith & western* because where I’m from it’s very hard to turn 27,” Meek Mill captioned his post.

The Philadelphia rapper is a known advocate for criminal justice reform and has even co-founded the REFORM Alliance with Michael Rubin and Jay Z. United Nations Under-Secretary-General and Executive Director of UN Women Phumzile Mlambo-Ngcuka was also honoured with the Nelson Mandela Changemaker Award.

Meek Mill is no stranger to South African shores, the rapper previously performed in the country at the Castle Lite Unlocks concert in 2019 at the TicketPro Dome. The rapper was very excited about his trip to Mzansi and before he landed tweeted. “It’s official I’m finally coming to Africa!!! I know it’s gonna be crazyyyyy!!” he tweeted.
