DJ Maphorisa Accuses Makwa Of Copying His Wave To Create ‘Spirit’. It’s the battle of the producers! Award-winning producers DJ Maphorisa and Makwa have found themselves at odds with each other. DJ Maphorisa is not happy about what Makwa has said about him and aired out his frustrations on Facebook and did not hold back. Maphorisa’s posts come after Makwa went on a rant about his trust being broken by someone he spoke highly of. Makwa on Facebook wrote about an unidentified individual who he hopes one day will apologise to him.
This is not the first time DJ Maphorisa is claiming that Makwa copied his wave, just that time, his post comes with the popular DJ slamming Makwa. Maphorisa told Makwa to firstly “shut da f**k up” and alleged that Makwa’s career was made when he jumped on Maphorisa’s wave. “Makwa shut da fuck up ur whole career was made after ur copied my wave from Ngud’ by kwesta n u created Spirit n etc…… Fix urself n fucken work hard for ur shit,” wrote DJ Maphorisa. The producer has created some of SA Hip Hop’s biggest bangers, such as Kwesta’s hit track Ngudu’ featuring Cassper Nyovest.
Despite having interacted with Makwa on a working relationship level, Maphorisa seems to feel that Makwa is lazy. Maphorisa also expressed that he is disappointed by Makwa’s comments. He also urged Makwa to create his own shit, which is obviously not referring to a record label, as Makwa does have his own stable but rather his own wave. “START UR OWN SHIT u disgusting 
i hope u stopped drinking lean mxm im disappointed,” wrote Maphorisa. In his original post, Makwa made no mention of Maphorisa’s name and he even clarified that he was not talking about any RapLyf artists. It is in the comment section, where fans speculated that Maphorisa was the person Makwa was talking about.
Makwa doesn’t seem fazed by Maphorisa words and in response to a fan revealed that Maphorisa did not make and instead he was the one buying Maphorisa’s artists’ groceries. “Stop what you smoking. Maphorisa ain’t done shit for me, I was buying his artists groceries while he was flexing on them,” wrote Makwa. DJ Maphorisa was also not here for Makwa saying that he has done nothing for him, especially after he slept on his couch for three days. “Aint done shit????? but u slept on my couch for three days coping my wave now im nothing Tixo,” wrote Maphorisa.
