JR Reacts To SA Hip Hop Producer Zadok Arrangement Of Lil Nas’s VMA Performance. South African producer, musical director and creative Zadok has once again teamed up with U.S popstar Lil Nas X to contribute to the award-winning artist’s latest performance at the VMAs. Lil Nas performed his most recent smash hit, Industry Baby featuring Jack Harlow at the star-studded awards. Zadok previously contributed to Lil Nas X’s BET Awards of his song, Montero – Call Me By Your Name.
Zadok’s work on Lil Nas X’s most recent performance has not gone unnoticed by his supporters in South Ah. Rapper JR took to social media and shared a clip of the VMA performance and shared with his followers that Zadok worked on it. JR and Zadok have also worked together, the producer contributed to JR’s album Love Me Now. In his post, JR wrote, “Another arrangement from the team. More specifically the team leader for the Lil Nas X “Industry Baby” performance. #VMA! @ZadokZA well done champ.”
Ahead of the performance airing, Zadok tweeted that couldn’t wait for everyone to hear what they came up with for the performance. Zadok also shared that he was very excited about the show, even though it left him sleep-deprived. “I’m so excited about this show. No matter how sleep-deprived it leaves me,” tweeted. Zadok. The producer was personally contacted by Lil Nas X’s team after they discovered a Lil Nas cover Zadok did.
Speaking to Muse Africa, Zadok shared that he was excited about the recognition as it meant that all the hard work he has put in over the years is paying off. “I’m extremely chuffed about the recognition. It feels amazing knowing that all these years of hard work and putting in the hours haven’t been in vain. Any honest creative in the SA music industry will tell you how much it can take out of you, so I really don’t take such moments for granted,” Zadok publication.
He also added that the opportunity will open up the opportunity for him to connect with more creatives from around the globe. “I’m mostly excited about the possibilities of connecting with more creatives globally and playing my part in pushing the South African agenda, all whilst making amazing art.” JR is not the only South Ah Hip Hop artist Zadok has worked with, he has also worked with award-winning artist AKA. He has contributed to AKA’s Bhovamania album and also AKA’s recent joint EP with Costa Titch.
