Nota Shares The SA Rapper He Feels Would Be The Best Replacement For Somizi On Idols SA

Nota Shares The SA Rapper He Feels Would Be The Best Replacement For Somizi On Idols SA. Viewership for popular singing competition show, Idols SA has reportedly dropped following the departure of judge Somizi Mhlongo. The media personality has taken time off the popular show, which he has been a judge on since season 11 of the show. Somgaga is a firm favourite on the show and the dip in ratings is an indication of just how much fans enjoy him on the show.

Idols SA viewership in August was at 693760 and in July the show pulled over a million viewers. Idols SA at the moment is currently bringing different guest judges. Nota, however, seems to have a solution that will not only bring back viewers to the long-running show but will also assist in drawing in more viewers to watch the show. Nota has suggested that Cassper Nyovest should be brought onboard to Idols for the show to succeed.

Nota shared his comments on social media when he reshared a news article about the viewership dropping on Idols SA. In his remarks, Nota noted that Don Billiato would not only do a better job than Somgaga but he would be able to entertain audiences without any controversy. “The judges are boring let’s be honest… If people really want the show to succeed get Cassper Nyovest onboard. He can do it better than Somgaga, bring back ratings and entertain people without being a convicted sex offender and predator,” wrote Nota.

Cassper was once a guest judge on the singing competition so he wouldn’t be a stranger to the Idols SA judging panel, which consists of Unathi Nkayi and Randall Abrahams. His appearance was enjoyed by viewers, however, he was criticized by saying ‘yes’ to Zozibini Tunzi’s younger sister, who many felt she did not have the talent needed for the show. Cassper defended himself against the backlash and said how he could say no to Miss Universe’s sister.

However, not everyone is convinced that the award-winning rapper is the answer to increasing viewership ratings on the show. A critic commented on Nota’s post and highlighted that viewership for the premiere episode of The Braai Show with Cass on SABC 1’s viewership dropped by 600k. Nota responded to the critic that it was only the first episode and predicted that by the time the show reaches the finale, viewership will have doubled. “That’s the first episode… The viewership will be double by the time they reach the finale, watch!” responded Nota.
