Sjava Reacts To Being Amongst The Most Streamed SA Rappers On Apple Music. Popular streaming platform Apple Music recently released its statistics for the most streamed music and artists in South Ah, of all time since the platform was launched six years ago in the country. The results from Apple Music were surprising, to say the least, but were welcomed by fans and critics of SA Hip Hop. Apple Music released the report on Mzansi’s Most Streamed Artists of All Time in celebration of Heritage Day which is commemorated yearly on September 24 in SA.
Rapper Sjava features on two of the lists compiled by Apple Music. The award-winning artist, features on the Most Streamed South African Artists of All Time and the Most Streamed SA Albums of All Time. The Asina Muva hitmaker is the 9th most streamed artist in SA and his album, Umqhele is the 9th most streamed album over the past six years. The musician took to social media and shared his reaction to his latest achievement. In his post, Sjava quoted the words of American rapper Takeoff on the song Deadz, who is a part of the rap group, Migos. “My momma told me I gotta stay humble But don’t be too ready, you gotta have patience,” wrote Sjava.
Sjava also shared on his Instagram stories a post dedicated to his long time producer Ruff, who he has worked on several Sjava projects. In his post, Sjava shared a picture of Ruff and him walking on the beach and wrote in his caption, “@ruff_1020_atm Thank you ❤️”. The post coinciding with the news of Apple Music’s report and it is fitting that Sjava thank Ruff as he contributed immensely to his success. The 1020 Cartel which is Sjava’s record label along with Ruff shared a post thanking fans for all the support that allowed them to reach this new milestone. “Of all time. Thank you to everyone who has been supporting @sjava_atm from Isina Muva all the way to Umsebenzi! ❤️❤️” read the post.
Following his departure from Ambitiouz Entertainment, Sjava has gone on to obtain success as an independent artist. The BET award-winning rapper’s EP Umsembenzi which was released last year and within days of its release reached 1 million streams across all streaming platforms. The EP’s success was a testament that Sjava does not need to be attached to a big level in order to obtain success. Congratulation to Sjava on his latest win!
