#TheBraaiShowWithCass Legal Drama Results In Main Sponsor Pulling Out. The legal battle surrounding The Braai Show With Cassper has resulted in the show’s main sponsor Robertson pulling out of sponsoring season 2 of the show. The ongoing legal battle between the show’s co-creator AKA and production companies Cake Media and MakhuduCom has been dragging out since the announcement that Cassper Nyovest would be taking over presenting the show from AKA.

Entertainment commentator Phil Mphela shared the latest tweet about the highly anticipated show on Twitter. Phil tweeted that amid the legal battle Robertson has opted not to sponsor The Braai Show’s second season. Phil explained that the SABC does have an agreement for the brand’s products that are on the episodes that have been shot. “Robertson has pulled out of sponsoring Season 2 of #TheBraaiShow amid legal battle between production co. & AKA SABC retains an agreement for the brand’s product placement elements that are already in the show.”

Phil also explained that viewers will see Robertson products on the show but at some point during the season viewers will not see the products. “You will still see Robertson’s products on the episodes but the brand has withdrawn it financial backing of the show and will not be featured in future production of the show,” he tweeted. It is not clear what other brands are sponsoring the braai show and if any will follow in Robertson’s footsteps.

Parties involved in the legal battle with AKA had initially decided to settle the matter out of court but after failed negotiations, the battle is still ongoing. AKA has released a statement wishing Cassper well for the second season. In his statement, the rapper also shared that he will be continuing with the legal battle. “It is for this reason that I continue to fight this injustice to my creative vision and the violation of my trust as it is clear to me that the continued exploration of the creative industry in the country will see no end. It is for that reason that I intend to continue the fight. The time has come for a new precedent to be set. I wish continual success for The Braai Show and its host for season two. After all is said and done, it’s just business,” read the statement in part.

The legal battle may be ongoing, however, it is not enough to bring down Cassper’s spirits on his big day and has been gloating on social media ahead of the show’s premiere on SABC 1. “Yall said the show wouldn’t see the light of day. Yall also said I worked for the boy. Well , #TheBraaiShowWithCass premires tonight at 18:00 on SABC 1 and like I said !!! Ha Ke Spanele malaatie!!! I just can’t stop winning!!! Last question , guess who got the last laugh? Haha!!” tweeted Cassper.
