Watch! AKA Gets Annoyed By Thando Thabethe Getting Personal During An Interview. Rapper AKA recently dropped a collaborative project with Costa Titch and the two are currently promoting their latest body of work by doing PR interviews. While the attention should be on their new work, some things are just unavoidable. Things got rather awkward for the rapper during one of his press interviews when they got a bit too personal for him.
Radio host Thando Thabethe put AKA in the hot seat when she asked him some burning questions during his interview along with Costa Titch on 947. During the interview, Thando turned to a different line of questioning that AKA was clearly not ready for and which had Costa Titch speechless. Thando asked AKA about his tell-all interview, which he did shortly after his fiancee, Anele Tembe’s passing with Thembekile Mrototo, who also works for 947.
Thando gets to the tough questions by turning to AKA and saying “We have to speak about the elephant in the room,” the rapper plays it off and ask Thando “What’s the elephant in the room?” Thando then goes on to explain exactly what the elephant in the room is. “You had a sit down with one of our own, Thembekile Mrototo, a lot of people felt like you said nothing in the interview. Do you feel a need to say anything about the incident that happened?
In a clip of the interview circulating on social media, AKA is visibly seen to be annoyed and Costa is sitting next to him quietly. The rapper then goes on to tell Thando that “You want to call it an incident, this is my life though. To you, it’s an incident.” While AKA is visibly not interested in continuing with the line of questioning, Thando presses on and asks the rapper to talk about the experience. “Speak to us about the experience,” AKA interrupts Thando and asks her “What if I don’t want to?” to which she tells him “you don’t have to” but also asks him. “Is it something you never going to answer,?” Thando goes on to ask AKA. The rapper who is visibly annoyed, snaps and says, “it’s none of your business, it’s nobodies business but my own. It’s something, I’m living with in my own life. It’s none of your business.”
Several tweeps have weighed in on the video and Thando’s interview technique. Some have criticised the rapper for getting emotional during the interview. A tweep weighed in and said that AKA should have kept his cool and respond in a vague manner instead of being defensive. “AKA should’ve kept it cool tho and answer in vague or spin it with some humour then keep it moving than get emotional about it and defensive is not a good look for a man to be easily tricked out of his composure like that espy by a journalist smh,” read the comment.
