Stogie T Finally Addresses ‘Unfortunate Fracas’ With Nota

Stogie T Finally Addresses ‘Unfortunate Fracas’ With Nota. Award-winning rapper Stogie T has officially addressed his altercation with SA Hip Hop commentator Nota Baloyi which took place at the weekend at Yanga Chief’s Hip Hop party, Famous Friends. Following the event, Nota was the first to confirm that he indeed something took place between him and Stogie T. Nota claimed to approached Stogie T because he was allegedly told the rapper was looking for him. Nota has also alleged that Stogie T punched a woman two weeks ago.

Stogie T has released one statement, addressing the incident, unlike Nota who shared several live videos and posts on the matter. In his statement, Stogie T claims that Nota has lied about him on several encounters and has become known for slandering individuals in Hip Hop. Stogie also shared his version of what took place at the event and alleges Nota provoked him, resulting in the fracas. In his statement, Stogie also issued an apology to the Hip Hop community, his family and his wife.

“As an artist, I support free speech and the right of anyone to express their feelings on various public platforms. I have come to accept that people will either love or reject what I produce. Nota Baloyi has made a name for himself by slandering various creatives in the arts and culture space, with the particular vitriol reserved for me. He has lied about encounters, charged me with destroying culture, one time suggesting my mother was a corrupt public servant who cheated the state to prop up my European tours with Tumi and The Volume, and most recently, suggesting I am a woman beater.

“Yesterday, at an event touted as bringing hip hop together for the love of the culture, I was minding my own business when Nota encroached my section. I interpreted this as a provocation and gestured for him to leave and an unfortunate fracas ensued. I regret that it had to get to all that and would like to extend my deepest apologies to my wife, my family, my church, and the hip hop community. I try my utmost best to be respectful, but my dignity and family honour are red lines. I reserve the right to defend myself against clout chasing clown trying to violate me and my name!” read the statement.

Stogie T had also shared an Instagram post, which was also a response to Nota’s run-in with him. The post has since been deleted. The post was a video clip of a race, with different runners. In his caption, Stogie T wrote, “Run your mouth, run to blogs but can’t run up on me“. The post seems to have been replaced with a more well-thought-out statement.
