Emtee Stuns Crowd At Kota Festival After 16-Day Jail Stint. Just days after securing his release on bail, Mthembeni “Emtee” Ndevu returned to the stage in Cape Town, delivering a commanding performance at the Cape Town Kota Festival on Saturday, 5 September 2026.
The Hustla’s appearance came only three days after he walked out of Johannesburg Correctional Centre on R2,000 bail. Emtee had spent 16 days in custody after his bail was revoked in August over an alleged breach of a 2023 protection order obtained by his estranged wife, Nicole Chinsamy. Chinsamy later withdrew the matter at the Midrand Magistrates’ Court, saying she wanted to close the chapter for the sake of their three children. Emtee remains due back in court on 10 September.
Away from the legal developments, Emtee appeared focused on what he does best when he arrived at The Ostrich at Ostrich Ranch in Philadelphia.
