“I Have To Protect My Energy,” Da L.E.S On AKA. They had a streak of successes, showed off their relationship  which was often hailed as a ray of hope in a field notorious for its hostility but their bromance burned out with more unanswered questions. AKA and Da L.E.S have worked their way up to the together in the a very competitive SA hip hop scene. Not only that they acted like brothers, but the music they did together speaks volume and that gave a clear pathway on how much they have contributed in the hip hop culture.

During an interview on BET Behind The Story Da L.E.S gave a reflection on where his relationship with AKA stands. He made it clear that he is all about protecting his energy and that’s the only thing he prioritize in this situation. Despite their differences North god also mentioned that AKA was one of the people who showed a real appreciation of his music. “Kiernan was definitely the guy who was like yoh brother I don’t know if anyone has ever told you but like your music slaps.”

Da L.E.S was further asked where his relationship with AKA stands, “and now how’s the relationship?” asked Nomalanga Shozi during the interview. The rapper did not try to hide anything as he revealed the current state of his relationship with the Run Jozi hit maker.

“People who know me, I’m a non-confrontational guy you know what I’m saying if I don’t really get with your energy anymore I have to protect my energy first so that’s where the relationship is right now, its putting my energy first, self-preservation first and I just keep it moving, all he said, she said, I’m not with all of that,” he said.
