Burna Boy’s Reaction To Losing Out On A Grammy Award 2020. Nigerian musician Burna boy was nominated at this year’s 62nd Gammy awards in the category of World Music Album Unfortunately he didn’t win, singer Angelique Kidjo won the award.
The artist’s nomination became a big deal as he was one of a few Nigerian musicians to be nominated. When he didn’t win, he was celebrated either way even by Kidjo.
Angelique who’s an iconic Beninese singer dedicated her Grammy award to singer Burna Boy. The heartwarming speech had her give praise to the African Giant.
“The new generation of artists coming from Africa are going to take you by storm, and the time has come. Burna Boy is among those artists that come from Africa that is changing the way our continent is perceived,”” she wrote.
Burna took to express how he felt about Angelique’ speech despite losing to her.
“I love you forever @angeliquekidjo and every single person that rooted for me, I don’t take any of it lightly! The world get ready cause we’re all coming!” – Burna Boy.
American model Naomi Campbell even gave a shout out to both artists.
