Video Director Ofentse Mwase Reveals Who Was Behind The “Ameni” Music Video Concept
Video Director Ofentse Mwase Reveals Who Was Behind The “Ameni” Music Video Concept. Ofentse Mwase has been one of the major contributors to the SA hip hop game and the music industry as a whole. The Cinematographer has worked with a slew of rappers in the making of their music videos and most of his work has grabbed the limelight.
The famed Video Director does not work alone in coming up with ideas for the various music video concepts. Taking to Twitter, Mwase shared pictures of the popular music video by DJ Miss Pru and then various Ambitiouz Entertainment artists captioned; “Miss Pru was the first person to collect the infinity stones๐ฎ๐คฏโ in 2016 #Ameni.”
One of his Twitter followers went on and questioned the renowned video director about the origin of the idea for the music video. “So who came up with the whole music video concept? Was it preplanned or you had to direct the whole shoot too ?” Questioned the tweep.
Since Ofentse Mwase collaborates with others, the video director continued by saying that his wife Nelisiwe Mwase was responsible for the idea for the Ameni music video. “@nelisiwemwase,” he responded.
Despite having produced and directed several high-quality hip-hop videos in South Africa, Mwase acknowledged that certain artists did not enjoy all of his work. The music video director revealed that he had to redo some of the work on Kwesta‘sย Vur Vai.
โSo Kwestaโs Vur Vai was one of the videos that we went back we had to shoot some scenes where heโs fighting these guys, thatโs the scene that we had to reshoot,” he said. โI think he was just not happy we donโt have a lot of action, enough action in the video so we went back and reshoot that.โ
