Maftown Heights Creative Community Workshop’s Full Speaker Line -Up! On Friday 6 March all roads will lead to Mahikeng in the North West as the best of the best in the music and events industry will lead robust discussions and share knowledge to uplift the creative community in the North West at the inagural Maftown Heights Creative Community Workshop.

The program will be opened by MEC Tsotso Galebekwe Virginia Tlhapi from the North West Department of Culture, Arts and Traditional Affairs (CATA), followed by a keynote address on the Economic Value of African Music from Recording Industry of South Africa (RiSa) CEO, Nhlanhla Sibisi.

The full day workshop will then roll out with powerful panel discussions touching on a full spectrum of topics relevant to the creative community.

The first discussion of the day will be facilitated by Munya Chanetsa from CAPASSO on the topic, Do Local Streaming Services Aid Consumption. the panel on this topic include Nota Nhlamulo Baloyi from the Orchard South Africa, Pule Mokoa from Content Africa and Jr from The Good Group.

Following this will a discussion on How to survive in a competitive world of live events facilitated by Theresho Selesho from Matchbox Live. To speak on this topic will be Sipho Dlamini from Joy of Jazz, Bakang Dince from Maftown Meets Pitoli , Ricky Rick from Cotton Fest, Thapelo Fish Pabaling from Leapfrog/GIMC and Oarabile Lobelo who is from Section 9 Africa.

The next topic of discussion will be How to get enough attention: A great song is not good enough. the facilitator will be Siyabonga Metane from Silkour on Lifeand also from Skwatta Camp. the panelist will include Nadia Nakaia musician from Bragga Holdings, Sheila Afari from Sheila Afari Public Relations, Kgosi Mahumapelo from Ambitiouz Entertainment, Tebogo Seema(Dj Vigilante) from Universal and Gabriella Adams from Channel O.

Lerato Matsotso the Entertainment editor for Sunday Sunday and Daily Sun will then facilitate the discussion on the topic, The art of funding : Keeeping the arts alive. The panelists fro this topic will include Andre Le Roux from SAMRO Foundation or Concert SA, Thabiso Mohare from British Council, Bandile Mngoma from old Mutual and Thobela Dlamini from Ngwane Records.

Soon After, Stoane from Bongo Maffin who is also a Tv personality will then facilitate the discussion on the topic, The copyright perfomers protection ammendment bill. the speakers on this topic will be Dodo Monamodi from IMPRA, Nhlanhla Sibisi from RiSA and Nota Nhlamulo Baloyi from The Orchard South Africa.

On the topic, Recording masterclass-The final product, Musicians Towdee Mac, Khuli Chana and Kay G will facilitate the discussion.

The last topic of the day will be How to build your dream team. This topic will be facilitated by Refiloe Rmagase from the Dreamteam. Speakers will include Raphael Benza from Vth Season, Phindile Matroshe from At handle, Thabiso Khati from The Effect and Bontle Kgasoane who is artsist manager
