AKA is one of the South African rappers that has declined to join the amapiano trend while having no problem with the genre. Taking to Twitter, the multi-award-winning rapper praised SA rappers who are succeeding in this era of amapiano. The rapper said those artists are the real deal. “If you are flourishing in Hip Hop, in THIS era right now … you must know you are the fucking real deal,” tweeted AKA.

The rapper is currently working towards his fourth studio album Mass Country. The rapper announced that the body of work will be released on the 24th of February. The Supa Mega has already dropped three lead singles from the project with the latest one Prada featuring Khuli Chana.

His presence in the hip-hop game has increased the anticipation for the album, but some of his Megacy fans will not be able to see him perform at the forthcoming Cotton Fest. AKA‘s snub from the music concert came as a surprise to many but the rapper explained what happened for him to be not included on the lineup.

Taking to Twitter, the father of one said that he and the event organisers did not agree on certain terms hence he wont be performing this year. “We couldn’t come to an agreement but I wish them nothing but the best!! Get your tickets now!!!” He tweeted.
