Big Xhosa Sends An Appeal To CottonFest JHB
Big Xhosa Sends An Appeal To CottonFest JHB. Controversy hampered Big Xhosa’s ascent to fame in South African hip-hop. The rapper, who was also a victim of cancel culture, received no favours from the industry for his diss track directed at well-known artists.
Big Xhosa has been reaping the rewards for his actions following a snub to perform at the two CottonFest events last year. This year, the rapper is looking forward to making a node on the lineup and he has opted to put a word for himself to the event organizers for that to happen.
Taking to Instagram, the Ninyile chanter appealed to the prominent event organisers that they should add him to the lineup since he has a big surprise and he is ready to make history once given the chance. “@cottonfestjhb I’d like to play this year. I got a huge surprise for y’all. Please don’t miss a moment of making history,” he wrote.
Following last year’s CottonFest snub, Big Xhosa was not the only rapper who missed out on a performance to pay a tribute to Riky Rick following his passing. K.O. and his SkhandaWorld crew were also not called to perform. Big Xhosa however did not take that well as he went on and claimed that SA hip hop doesn’t like him and he is going to build his own music festival.
“SA HIP HOP don’t like me my guy, not even stressed about it. .They got a whole bunch of unknown high school skrrr skrrr kids there. But no worries if they don’t invite me to their table I’ll build my own.” He tweeted.
The CottonFest organizers have not yet revealed the exact date for this year’s event or what attendees and performers may expect. Everyone’s attention will be focused on the lineup to see who will play on the event’s famous three main stages.
