Following the tragic passing of AKA, Big Xhosa resorted to Twitter and bid farewell to the Supa Mega and expressed that he has always wanted to be like him. “Rest well AKA. Thank you for everything you were. Most of us wanted to be like you,” tweeted Big Xhosa.

The Ninyile chanter also shared a video on Twitter of him revealing AKA‘s verse that inspired him to become a rapper. In the video, the Xhosa rapper said that he used to recite AKA’s verse on DJ Vigilante’s song God’s Will featuring K.O.

“There was a song released by DJ Vigilante and AKA and K.O. called God’s Will. What I did is I studied AKA’s verse, and I practised AKA’s verse that’s how I got into rapping through an AKA verse. Then from there, I went to the studio, and the hommies said I must freestyle, I freestyle that AKA verse, I told them it’s my verse, and they told you are lying, we know that verse. So that’s how it came about,” he said.

Big Xhosa would’ve wanted to work with AKA, unfortunately, the rapper who inspired him got his life cut short after he was short in Durban. The Amasende chanter has been putting efforts to make an impact in the game and he has fairly well thus far.
