Since SA Hip Hop has blown up we have seen more and more complaints from Hip Hop heads about how all we ever hear coming out of the genre is turn up music. Well, not that there isn’t any real music with substance that’s being put out, but what the masses are exposed to is the turn-up side of things.
Reason is one artist who has been going hard for SA Hip Hop for a long time now, but it’s clear that none of his albums have sold gold. The Katlehong rapper is a world class rapper in my opinion and he definitely writes and makes better quality music than most of the albums doing bigger numbers than his.
Ginger Trill is another rapper who also has his pen game on the level of the rap gods but for some reason it seems to take a longer time for these high-quality lyricists to get that recognition. For instance, Tumi only won his first award in 2015! “In my eyes… the only real difference between Kendrick & Ginger Trill is the f***en budget” said Reazus. “They both got skills and a message” the rapper continued!
