The SA hip-hop scene has produced a vast of exceptional rappers ever since the commercialization of rap music in the country, and up to date, SA hip-hop has not been confined to the African musical realms, rather the genre has attracted global audiences.

Taking to Facebook, Ghanaian rapper Manifest objectively stated that he believes South Africa has the deepest rap pool in the African continent. The rapper ranked his country second after SA with Nigeria following third. “Objectively speaking… South Africa has the deepest rapper pool in Africa. Followed by Ghana. Then Nigeria. In my opinion,” he wrote.

South Africa boasts a rich and diverse hip-hop scene, with rappers like the late AKA, Cassper Nyovest, Emtee, and Nasty C amongst others achieving international acclaim. The country’s unique blend of Kwaito, house music, and American hip-hop has resulted in a vibrant soundscape that continues to evolve.

Manifest has been an integral part of the South African hip-hop landscape, witnessing its evolution firsthand. His collaboration with A-Reece on the “P2” album is a testament to his connection with the genre’s talent and growth. Recently, A-Reece lauded Manifest as the premier rapper in Africa, emphasizing that when it comes to rap supremacy on the continent, it’s only him and the Ghanaian artist who stand at the forefront.
