DJ Speedsta Kicks Off Community Blanket Drive In Johannesburg. South African media personality and music tastemaker DJ Speedsta is rallying communities together this winter through the blanket and clothing drive aimed at helping those in need during the colder months.
Speaking directly to supporters in a warm message shared, DJ Speedsta announced that the initiative officially kicks off today, encouraging people to donate any spare clothing, blankets, or winter essentials they may have at home.
“Any clothing that you have, just in your local cupboards, around the school tents, please go drop it off,” he said while encouraging fans to contribute wherever they can.
The campaign’s first official drop-off point has been confirmed at Benchwarmers in Wolmarans Street, with additional collection venues expected to be announced soon. Speedsta urged supporters to look through cupboards, school storage spaces, and unused clothing collections to help make a difference for vulnerable communities facing harsh winter conditions.
Alongside the charity drive announcement, DJ Speedsta also confirmed the return of Buffalo to Braamfontein. The event is set to take place at Shine Studios on 27 June, with tickets officially now available.
Despite the excitement surrounding the upcoming entertainment event, it was the blanket drive that stood out as the heart of his message, with the broadcaster placing strong emphasis on collective action and community support.
