Loatinover Pounds Releases Sophomore Album “Ground 2 Glory”
Loatinover Pounds Releases Sophomore Album “Ground 2 Glory.” Loatinover Pounds has officially released his second studio album, Ground 2 Glory, marking another major chapter in the Pretoria rapper’s growing career.
The project follows a run that has seen Loatinover Pounds take Spitori from the streets of Pretoria to a much wider South African audience. His breakthrough came with the 2022 release of Hood Misunderstood and the popular track “Sosh Plata”, before he built on that momentum with his 2024 debut album, Pray 4 Pitori.
Pray 4 Pitori became a major milestone in his career, spending months at number one on the South African Apple Music hip-hop chart and eventually achieving double-platinum status. The album also earned recognition from fellow artists, including A-Reece, further establishing Loatinover Pounds as one of the prominent voices emerging from Pretoria’s hip-hop scene.
With Ground 2 Glory, the rapper continues to build on that foundation while keeping his hometown identity firmly at the centre of his music. The album carries his signature Spitori language and storytelling, while bringing in notable collaborations that include A-Reece and Sjava.
The release was also marked by a listening party in Pretoria on Friday, giving members of the local community an opportunity to experience the project together on release day. Tickets for the event were previously made available through Webtickets and Pick n Pay.
Beyond the music, Loatinover Pounds has continued developing the wider “punyete” movement around his work, extending into clothing, events and community-driven initiatives.
Ground 2 Glory now adds another chapter to that journey, with Loatinover Pounds continuing to represent Pretoria while expanding the sound and identity he has built around his music.
The album is out now.
