25K Celebrates Two Years of ‘Loyal to the Plug’ As Album Surpasses 35 Million Streams

25K Celebrates Two Years of ‘Loyal to the Plug’ As Album Surpasses 35 Million Streams. Two years after bringing Loyal to the Plug: The Life & Times of Don Kilograms to the streets, 25K is celebrating a milestone that speaks to the lasting impact of his music. The Pretoria rapper’s 2024 album has officially surpassed 35 million streams, proving that its connection with listeners remains as strong as ever.

Taking to Instagram to mark the occasion, the rapper expressed gratitude to everyone who has continued to support the project long after its release.
“2 YEARS OF LOYAL TO THE PLUG. 35 MILLION+ STREAMS,” he wrote. “2 years later, & the music is still speaking! To my clientele, thank you for every stream, every repost, every playlist add, & for keeping this album alive. 35M+ streams wouldn’t be possible without you. This milestone belongs to US!”
Beyond celebrating the numbers, 25K also acknowledged the people who contributed to bringing the project to life. His appreciation extended to Sony Music Africa, Zoocci Coke Dope, Big Les For Real, Warren Masemola, Golden Thread Africa and everyone who believed in the album from the beginning.
Released in 2024, Loyal to the Plug: The Life & Times of Don Kilograms arrived as the highly anticipated follow-up to 25K’s breakthrough debut, Pheli Makaveli. With Zoocci Coke Dope overseeing the album’s curation, the project offered a deeper look into the rapper’s world, balancing introspective storytelling with the street-inspired sound and Pitori identity that have become central to his artistry.
The album brought together a strong selection of collaborations, including “Deep Waters” featuring A-Reece, Maglera Doe Boy and Marcus Harvey, alongside “Real Is Rare” featuring Nasty C. These records helped strengthen the project’s presence in South African hip-hop, giving listeners more reasons to return to the album beyond its initial release.
Its influence was also recognised beyond streaming platforms. In 2025, Loyal to the Plug earned 25K his first South African Music Award, winning Best Hip Hop Album. The achievement marked a significant moment in his career, rewarding the rapper’s consistency and commitment to representing his roots.
Now, two years later, the album continues to find new listeners while maintaining its place in 25K’s catalogue. For an artist whose journey has been shaped by loyalty to his people and the streets that raised him, the milestone carries meaning beyond the streaming figures.
Summing up the celebration, 25K declared: “2 YEARS. 35M+ STREAMS. FOREVER LOYAL. WE’RE JUST GETTING STARTED.”
With Loyal to the Plug continuing to resonate with listeners, Don Kilograms has another reason to celebrate a project that has stood the test of time. The numbers are growing, the music is still speaking, and 25K is showing no signs of slowing down.
