The Spitori wordsmith announced the release on Instagram with a short message confirming that the visual is now available on YouTube. ““MY LIFE” Official Music Video Out Now on Youtube,” he announced.

“My Life” opens Ground 2 Glory, released on 25 September 2026, and introduces listeners to the more personal side of Pounds’ latest chapter. The album serves as the follow-up to his 2024 project Pray 4 Pitori, which placed Pretoria culture and identity at the centre of his music.

On Ground 2 Glory, Pounds shifts his focus towards his own journey, exploring the realities that come with success, personal growth, relationships, temptation and the challenges of navigating life while chasing bigger ambitions.

The track draws from Roy Ayers Ubiquity’s “Everybody Loves the Sunshine,” with Loatinover Pounds giving the familiar influence a distinctly Pretoria feel through the refrain, “My life, my life, my life ko Pitori.” He reflects on his journey from Mabopane to his current position while acknowledging that certain parts of the road have to be travelled alone.

The song arrives during one of the biggest periods of Pounds’ career. Ground 2 Glory surpassed one million streams across platforms during its first week and secured No. 1 positions on the charts, giving the rapper his first chart-topping project.

The album also features a strong line-up of collaborators, including A-Reece on “Hood Gospels,” alongside Focalistic, Mochen, Mo Sufi, Khalee G, THE NORTH MOB and Saint Cielo. Despite the growing list of collaborators, Pounds continues to keep his Pretoria roots firmly embedded in his sound and identity.

Born Loatile Mangadi and raised in Pretoria, Pounds began building his name with projects such as Hood Misunderstood, released in 2022, and the street favourite “Sosh Plata.” His 2024 album Pray 4 Pitori further established him as one of the prominent voices representing the capital’s culture through hip-hop.

With Ground 2 Glory, Pounds is documenting what comes after the initial breakthrough. “My Life” captures that perspective from the opening moments, making its new visual an important addition to the album’s story.

The official music video for “My Life” is now streaming on YouTube.
