AKA Responds To Upcoming Rappers Seeking An Easy Way Into SA Hip Hop
AKA Responds To Upcoming Rappers Seeking An Easy Way Into SA Hip Hop. There doesn’t seem to be a day that goes by without AKA making a dig at someone or complaining about something. For the past week, the rapper shared some classic moments of his birthday, and a video emerged of him having arguments with the SA Idols stage organisers when he performed at the event.
It’s true that AKA is very influential in the SA hip hop game. The rapper carries a slew of hip hop collaborations in his catalogue with big artists in SA and beyond. It’s evident that The Supermega has to work his way up to be where he is right now and most upcoming artists admire all his work.
With all the influence he has AKA carries a huge task on his hands. Recently, the rapper shared on Twitter one of the WhatsApp messages he received from one upcoming artist who needed The Supermega to listen to his beats and put him on in the hip hop space.
“I’m done begging you to listen to my beats I’m done begging you for anything… I came to your birthday I halla at u u ignored ? me I became an embarrassment after all the sacrifices I took to come thru… why didn’t you just tell me from the beginning that I’m nagging? you all of that is ending today u will never ever hear from me asking you for anything I’m even blocking you.“
AKA went on and responded that most of the music he has been receiving from the upcoming artists is not good enough. The rapper lamented that he learned the hard way before he blew up in the game. He revealed that he had to exchange numbers before he had the chance to be in the studio with big artists like Khuli Chana and K.O.
“Yall think this game is for everybody. Newsflash. 90% of everybody’s music is ? I had to exchange many numbers before we could even get the CHANCE to be in the same studio as KHULI or KO or Linda … you think you gone just text me & I’m just gonna put you on my back? You dreaming.” Responded AKA via Twitter.
AKA’s response has caused a lot of divisions on the timeline. Some of his followers begging the rapper to assist the upcoming artists whilst others were siding with The Supermega mentioning that new artists must find the right way to approach a big artist like AKA.
