DJ Clen Believes A-Reece Deserves Producer Of The Year Award. DJ and producer, DJ Clen, has thrown his weight behind A-Reece’s bid for the coveted “Producer of the Year” award. The Pretoria-based Hip-hop DJ is currently basking in success following a massive reception of his debut “Viral” album.
DJ Clen‘s endorsement comes at a time when he was blown away by A-Reece’s production which immensely contributed to the success of the Viral album. Taking to Twitter, Clen said that Reece deserves to be awarded SA Hip-hop Producer of the Year even though it is not his full-time forte. “A-Reece deserves the best producer award this year.” Tweeted DJ Clen.
When asked about his first experience as an Executive Producer on the album, A-Reece said that he had no idea what the position required.
“Im gonna be honest with you bro, I didn’t even know what Executive Producing was when I suggested to Executive Producer’s album,” he said during an interview on Slikour On Life. “But basically what I mostly did was help him curate the records, like advise him on the people he could put on for specific songs. Like [this cat would go well with this guy you know and with this guy on hook type sh*t.]”
“Sometimes it’d be a situation where it’s like, I’d pick a beat and I’d be like yo I think this beat would work for a song with this concept and maybe if you have this guy do it will come into fruition you know. Stuff like that, and also arranging the tracklist which is very important,” he added.
