Maglera Doe Boy Addresses Remarks That Dee Koala Gave Him The Biggest Shinning Moment With “GWAN.” Dee Koala and Maglera Doe Boy have forged a significant impact in the hip-hop scene, with their chart-topping single “Gwan” continuing to create ripples in the South African hip-hop space.
Gwan has not only been confined to music streaming platforms, the track has transcended to become a stirring anthem at live events. This has prompted some fans to give credit to Dee Koala and appreciate the Khayelitsha-born rapper’s star power in the rap game.
In the midst of the praises, one of the notable remarks suggested that the Gwan hitmaker gave Maglera Doe Boy the biggest shining moment this year. “DeeKoala is amazing. She’s a lot of fun man. She has complete star power. That girl is a star. She gave Maglera his biggest shining moment this year,” read the post.
In response, the Free State-born rapper dismissed claims stating that the song Gwan originally belonged to him until he gave it to Dee Koala following the passing away of her mother during COVID. Maglera said that he felt like giving Dee something just to mess with in the rap game.
“Gwaan was originally mine. I made it with Dee during Covid. She lost her mother after and I felt like giving her something to say we still mess with her in the game. So I told her she can have the song,” Maglera Doe Boy said.
During an interview with Section9 Africa, Dee Koala expressed that despite her aspirations to create even more impactful music in the future, she considers “Gwan” to be her favourite song in her rap career. “It’s all of them, it is all of them, but right now we are chilling with Gwan and there’s an unreleased that I keep on repeating almost every day,” she said.
