Kane Keid Opens Up About The Inspiration Behind “Homecoming (4U).” Rising rapper Kane Keid is steadily carving his place in the music industry with his latest EP, Not Famous—a body of work that’s not only reflective and sonically rich but also deeply personal. In a recent interview with DJ Speedsta, when asked about the personal muse behind “Homecoming (4U)” and why it was essential to include it on the EP, Kane revealed the powerful truth:

“That song is for my mom,” he said. “And I think as someone who surfaces in the industry and is trying to be grounded, I think that’s a very important song to have on the project. Like, this is the most impactful person in my life, and it would be very wrong for me to just go into this whole thing (music career) and not show appreciation for her because she has been there since the start. She has been very supportive, and yah man, it’s just the track for my mom.”

And it shows. “Homecoming (4U)” reads like a letter—fragile, heavy, and full of love. The lyrics are layered with themes of sacrifice, homesickness, ambition, and the emotional toll that chasing dreams can take when your heart still belongs at home.

“So I leave you this letter to help you find solace / more problems occur with these new endeavours / I need you more than ever under the moonlight we looking at the same stars…”

It’s a poignant moment in the song, reflecting Kane’s internal tug-of-war between the lights of the stage and the warmth of his mother’s embrace. He doesn’t shy away from exposing his vulnerability, confessing how fame and pressure weigh him down while still keeping the promise that he’s doing it all for her:

“To cover shame I use garments you know I bought a few, I bought some shoes / I’m still on the road and I do this all for you…”

The lyrics unfold like journal entries, showing the emotional cost of his artistic pursuit. But what cuts deepest is the sincerity. His words are not dramatised or exaggerated—they’re lived in.

“You’re all I choose / work hard to see you smile / I do this all for you.”

In a world where ego often overshadows purpose in the music scene, Kane Keid’s “Homecoming (4U)” is a grounding reminder of the roots that nourish dreams. It’s not just a tribute to his mother—it’s a testimony to the sacrifices made behind the curtain, the tears cried in silence, and the quiet strength found in love.

With Not Famous, Kane Keid is telling the world that while he might not be chasing celebrity status, his art is fueled by something far more meaningful. And in doing so, he’s becoming exactly what the title suggests he isn’t—famous, not for fame’s sake, but for honesty, heart, and home.
