Flvme Reflects on Approaching Ambitiouz Entertainment at 16

Rapper and producer Flvme recently shared the story of how he first approached Ambitiouz Entertainment at the age of 16 during an interview on 5 Hip Hop Nights with DJ Speedsta. The artist opened up about the unexpected circumstances that led him to contact the label, the simple yet direct approach he used, and how the response he received set the foundation for his early career.
Speaking to DJ Speedsta, Flvme recalled that the moment that pushed him to reach out to the label came on a quiet Sunday afternoon. “What actually made me reach out to them is also very interesting,” he said. “It’s a Sunday, I’m walking back from church and as I’m walking home, I just checked on what’s going on on their page and coincidentally that day, A-Reece had just dropped Couldn’t. I listened to the song and I heard him and I was like, ‘There is no way an 18-year-old is rapping like that.’ So it just inspired me fully.”
Motivated by what he had just heard, Flvme decided to send a demo to Ambitiouz Entertainment. The track he chose was Shots To The Brain, which would later become his lead single under the label. He explained, “I sent them this one song called Shots To The Brain which also ended up being my lead single at Ambitiouz.”
Describing his approach to submitting the song, Flvme said he kept things simple and direct. “I used the email they had on the bio. I just sent it and I didn’t even write a long story, I kept it straight to the point,” he said. “Flvme, K1, 16 years old, here is my music, tell me if you like it.”
Two days after submitting his demo, he received a reply from the label. “Two days later, I got a response from them and then from there, everything just started happening,” he said. That interaction took place in late December 2015. By the following January, during the week when schools were reopening, he met with the Ambitiouz Entertainment team in person.
“January I met them on the same week I was supposed to go to school and schools were opening,” Flvme said. “So I went to go meet them and after we got to an agreement about what we’re gonna do.”
At the time, Flvme was still in high school, which became a factor in the label’s decision-making. He shared that while the label did not offer him a formal contract immediately, they did commit to helping him grow artistically. “At that time they said they were not gonna sign me because I was still in high school, but they were willing to help me develop as an artist,” he said.
He continued by describing how the development process worked. “So every week they’d text me to say they need a pack of this many beats, then I’d go make that pack of beats and send. And then they would just send you some money.”
Flvme’s story reflects a pivotal moment that marked the start of his music career, initiated by determination, simplicity, and the confidence to take the first step.
