Marcus Harvey announced the release on Instagram with a simple “Waters music video out now” caption, while crediting @twofoldza for the visuals. The release adds another chapter to the visual world surrounding his latest project.

“Waters” was first released as a single on August 7, 2026, before Son of Elvis arrived on August 28 through Stay Low Records. Running for roughly two and a half minutes, the track blends Harvey’s alternative R&B and neo-soul sensibilities with jazz textures and subtle boom-bap influences.

Produced alongside longtime collaborator Fiji Mageba, with additional production credits including ClxssicsOnly, “Waters” balances romantic warmth with more reflective questions about commitment and loyalty. Harvey moves from confident courtship into a more vulnerable space, asking whether that connection would remain when circumstances turn against him.

Born Lawrence Ofentse Harvey Mashiloane in Alexandra Township, Johannesburg, in 1999, Harvey has developed a sound that allows him to move naturally between singing, rapping and production. His catalogue includes I Am Marcus Harvey (2020), the You Still Don’t Know Me EP (2021), and Now You Know Me (2024), projects that have helped establish his reputation as an artist focused on storytelling, identity, love and personal experience.

His latest album, Son of Elvis, continues that exploration. The title references his father’s name while touching on family, inheritance and the process of defining oneself. Within that larger narrative, “Waters” offers a softer and more intimate moment.

The new visual also reunites Harvey with @twofoldza, a creative partner who has previously worked on his visual material. The team was involved in the post-production of the official “Malume” video and the “Charlotte” visualiser.

Details surrounding the concept of the new “Waters” video were not extensively revealed in the initial announcement, leaving the visuals to complement the song without an elaborate explanation.

With the release, Harvey continues rolling out the Son of Elvis era while allowing the music to lead the conversation. “Waters” is available on major streaming platforms as part of the album and as a single, with the official music video now extending the track’s story into a visual space.
