Makwa Adds Voice To Shishiliza’s Criticism Of Artists’ Abuse Towards Their Managers. The music industry has often decried the exploitation of artists by their record labels. Similarly, these very artists can also be guilty of mistreating the individuals who manage the day-to-day operations of their brand.

Taking to Twitter (X), Makwa added his voice to the increasing criticism aimed at artists who mistreat their managers. His comments followed Shishiliza‘s call for discussion within the South African music industry regarding the mistreatment of managers by artists. The renowned musician emphasized that the scarcity of managers in the industry stems from the widespread abuse inflicted by artists, resulting in a reluctance to collaborate with them.

“One day the real conversation that needs to be had is how artist’s abuse their managers. Verbally, Mentally & Emotionally. Then you’ll understand why “There aren’t enough Artist Managers in SA,” Shishiliza said.

In response to Shishiliza’s remarks, Makwa subliminally defended artists stating that some managers also want to get famous in the music industry. “And some managers also wanna be famous,” Makwa said.
