Tasha HendrixX Breaks Down How Her Forthcoming Mixtape “Against All Odds” Came To Life
Tasha HendrixX Breaks Down How Her Forthcoming Mixtape “Against All Odds” Came To Life. Tasha HendrixX has put a year’s worth of growth, grit, and clarity into her new mixtape Against All Odds, arriving October 7.

In a reflective Instagram video captioned “Against All Odds’ I prevail. So many reasons why I named this Mixtape the way I did. A.A.O 🩵💙 Oct 7th,” she described a creative journey that sharpened her boundaries and strengthened her belief in the work.
At the centre of her message is a clear rule for collaboration: do not force the record. “I’ve actually been working on it for just close to a year,” she begins. “One of the lessons I learnt is that work with people who wanna work with you. You do not need to force music. The moment you need to start running after people, begging people or feeling like you’re a burden to them, scratch it, move on.” For Tasha, that meant trusting her own momentum. “Move on to the next artist you can envision for the song. Do not force music.”
The distinction she drew between humility and self-erasure is sharp and necessary. “I humbled myself in every approach to every artist. But at one point, I had to [learn] that being humble isn’t enough sometimes. Sometimes you need to know when to draw the line.” That line appears when the outreach becomes a loop. “If you have to run after people, you have to ask them multiple times. Move on, dont waste your time. Work with people who wanna work with you.”
She also speaks to the quiet, complicated realities behind missed features. “Sometimes we envision an artist on a song, and truly, it is not the right time for them. Maybe they caught up, maybe they are busy, maybe it’s not the time, maybe they are not feeling the vibes, maybe they are not feeling the song, and they dont know how to tell you.”
Whatever the reason, she warns, do not let someone else’s timing tax your belief. “All im saying is, dont waste time, dont wait on people to believe in what you’ve got. Dont wait for people to see the value of the product that you have. If the artist you envisioned on the project is not showing up, move on.”
That lesson was not easy. “I learnt this lesson; it was a hard pill to swallow,” she admits. “Im not gonna lie to you because being rejected is not dope and sometimes it’s not even rejection, it’s just being ignored, even that is not dope.” Still, the outcome reaffirmed her compass. “To the artists who pulled up for me in this project, I cannot thank you enough. Like the ones on the art cover, those are the ones who pulled up for me and im so grateful because it turned out even better than I expected.”
Her message doubles as a pep talk for every creative stuck in inbox purgatory. “I just wanted to share this because I know a lot of times you lose confidence as a creative when people dont pull up for you, when people dont say yes to your future, or they ignore you. And im just encouraging you not to give up. If you believe in that track, if you believe in that joint, continue with it. Get another artist if the one that you envisioned doesn’t pull up because God has a plan with everything, and it’s worth it.” Then the bottom line: “It’s worth moving on, it’s not worth running after or begging or even paying for something that somebody doesn’t believe in you.”
The result is a mixtape forged by conviction rather than convenience. Against All Odds is less a collection of songs than a statement of process: choose reciprocity, honour your timeline, and protect your confidence. The cover itself is a roll call of those who answered.
On October 7, listeners will hear what happens when an artist stops chasing and starts aligning. Tasha HendrixX made the music she believed in, with the people who believed in it, too.
