Zingah Faces Backlash After Ranking Cassper In Top 5 SA Rappers Of All Time. Zingah has sparked a social media storm after publicly ranking Cassper Nyovest in the top 5 South African rappers of all time.
Taking to Twitter (X), Zingah responded to a post which asked whether Cassper Nyovest is fitting to be in the top 10 SA rappers of all time. “Is Cassper Nyovest a top10 SA hiphop rapper of all time??” Read the post. In a bid to justify Cassper’s impact in SA Hip Hop, Zingah said that the Tito Mboweni hitmaker is fitting to be in the top 5 SA rappers of all time. “He’s top 5,” Zingah said.
Zingah’s decision to shower accolades on Cassper and place him in the top 5 has stirred up a bit of controversy, with many fans stating that this might be an attempt to curry favour with Cassper for a potential interview on his Choppin It With Budha T Podcast.
In his defence, Zingah said that ranking Cassper in the top 5 is not praising but it’s a mere fact considering what the rapper has achieved in SA Hip Hop. “Calling Cass top 5 is not praising him it’s just fact,” Zingah said.
Zingah and Cassper Nyovest were not in the good books for a long time until the former took to Twitter (X) and apologized. However, since the apology, the Dlala chanter has been on Nyovest’s defence on different subject matters.
Recently, Cassper faced backlash after releasing a tribute song to AKA in his Solomon album. Despite the backlash directed at Cassper, Zingah stood firm in defence of the rapper, asserting that he, like everyone else, is entitled to his feelings and reactions in the aftermath of AKA’s passing.
“Is Cassper not allowed to feel the same thing everybody felt from losing AKA?” Zingah asked in his defence of Cassper. “Also, these guys were beefing but it’s not like these guys wanted to kill each other. I dont think the hate was like that. It’s not the type of beef where Cassper was happy to hear that this n**g dead, it’s not like that. It was a career thing,” Zingah said.
He continued; “I think their beef was more so a mutual respect at work thing and competition. Even though they ended up placing hands on each other.”
