Reason has gotten a lot of hostility as a result of his switch from hip-hop to amapiano but he claimed that he had full support from Riky Rick. With all he has contributed to the Yanos since his switch, Reason is now set to drop an album titled Rapiano. The rapper took to Instagram and shared how Riky Rick inspired the idea of Rapiano and how he has run with it to this day.

“Ricky once came up to me and said “Reas’… this thing you’re pushing is f*cken dope. I’m not sure what it is… cause it’s Rap. And it’s also Piano. Sooooooo it’s some sort of RAPIANO thing going on… but I love it. This is definitely your pocket. F*ck them up! I’ve since ran with the term RAPIANO as a way to explain my creative intention with this sound.” Wrote Reason.

The rapper went on and announced the release date for his first-ever body of work as an amapiano artist. The rapper claimed that his project is the best Rapiano project because he is the best and the project also comes with the best collaborations.

And with that said… #AlakineWorld ; The best RAPIANO album of the year drops tomorrow. I call it the best, not only because I’M the best… but more so because this album has the best RAPIANO artists out now.” Added Sizwe Alakine.

With all of the buzz about Amapiano taking over SA hip hop, Reason noted that artists and music producers don’t see a separation of the two genres, but rather a means to merge the two in order to create one unique sound for South Africans. “Musicians and producers who don’t see a separation between Rap and Amapiano. But instead, see a combination that brings life to something new, fresh and poetic for the youth of South Africa, Reason said.

The veteran rapper did not hold back in thanking everyone who helped him ensure the success of his upcoming album. “Thank you to all the artists, producers, creatives, suits, fans, friends and family that helped put this album together. I’ve always had pride in myself and my ability to drop classics. This is the latest. Enjoy.” He said.
