Jub Jub Arrested On Three Serious Criminal Charges. The South African music industry has been rocked following the arrest of a rapper and TV Presenter Jub Jub on three serious criminal charges: rape, assault, and attempted murder.
According to the SundayWorld publication, the rapper handed himself to Brixton Police Station after a warrant of arrest was issued against him. The rapper is currently appearing before the Johannesburg Magistrate Court.
Mavela Masondo, a spokesperson for the Gauteng police told the Sunday World that the case will appear before the magistrate on Thursday.
“Police can confirm that a well-known rapper handed himself over to the police in Brixton on Thursday, 27 July 2023, after a warrant of arrest was issued against him.
“He is expected to appear before the Johannesburg magistrate’s court today facing charges of rape, attempted murder and assault.”
Police sources with knowledge of the investigation disclosed that Jub Jub‘s arrest is linked to a case filed by a prominent celebrity and TV personality.
“The matter has been under investigation and after the docket was taken to the NPA for a decision, a decision was taken that the suspect needed to be arrested,” said a police officer who refused to be identified because he is not authorised to speak to the media.
“After getting a tip-off that he was wanted by the police, he decided to hand himself in. After police were satisfied that there was a strong case against the suspect, the NPA took a decision to prosecute.” Said the source as per Sunday World publication.
