Possible Evidence On AKA’s Fiancee Anele Tembe’s Phone Reportedly Cleared

The investigation surrounding the death of rapper AKA’s fiancee Anele ‘Nelile’ Thembe is still underway and now, new details have emerged, in a new report by Sunday World. In an article by the well-known publication, it has alleged that the rapper’s late fiancee’s phone has been wiped clean by an unknown person. Nelli’s phone is said to have contained information crucial to the police’s investigation.

The publication also reports that police in an attempt to obtain Anele’s record from her Apple phone, police are set to apply Section 205 of the Criminal Procedure Act. Sunday World also alleges that the Tembe family have contacted Apple to assist in obtaining the missing records. “It was not clear at the time of going to print who might have deleted the records from her cellphone as neither AKA nor Tembe’s family knew her passcode because she kept it secret,” stated the publication.

Sunday World further reports that Anele’s phone was given to the family by a close alley after her passing. “The family asked AKA if he knew the passcode, but he told them he had no idea as she kept it secret.” The mole said the family and the police later discovered that Tembe’s phone had been wiped clean and the cellphone records deleted when they examined it during their investigation.”

Another source speaking to Sunday World allegedly confirmed that some records were deleted from Anele’s phone, however, the source did not know if this happened after the phone was handed to the family AKA’s business partner and friend Jabu Nkabinde. The source according to the publication said the phone was handed to the police by Anele’s family.

The police, according to the publication spoke to the award-winning rapper’s lawyers and asked if he knew the passcode. “The investigating officer only asked his lawyer verbally to ask Kiernan if he knew her phone password as the father claims not to have it, yet they are missing bitchy comments in reference to DJ Zinhle from her social media that she made the day before her suicide.” The tipster also told the publication, “that being a confirmation that whoever was in possession of her phone deleted those comments a week after her funeral.”

Sunday World also alleges that another source told them, that AKA was “livid” that information on the phone had been deleted. AKA responded to Sunday World in a letter from his lawyers Mabuza Attorneys, according to the publication and accused them of “publishing slanderous and dangerous falsehood. “Yet you continue to attempt to legitimise your sources with distorted facts by publishing – attempting to interfere with an ongoing inquest and contributing towards driving a negative public narrative. “Our client’s harassment has come by way of your publication, not through this country’s law enforcement agencies that he has fully co-operated with.”

The report by Sunday World follows a report by City Press that alleged that the Western Cape Police have been ordered by the National Prosecuting Authority to investigate further. The case surrounding Nellie’s death seems to be far from being solved at the moment, AKA has maintained that his fiancee jumped to her death at the popular Cape Town hotel, The Pepper Club. AKA has also maintained his silence on the matter since his interview with Thembikile Mrototo.
