Nota Explains Why He Thinks Rappers Shouldn’t Be TV Presenters. Nota has shared his views about why rappers should stick to their lanes and not become TV presenters as an alternative career as this is career suicide. The rapper on his YouTube show, Everybody Haes Nota weighed on Cassper Nyovest being the host of the second season of The Braai Show.

Nota explained to his co-host Amy Zulu, how he first felt when rapper AKA turned to being a TV presenter when he debuted as the host of The Braai Show. “I think being a TV presenter is a dumb move for any rapper, when AKA did it, I was like well okay it’s a lockdown thing. So he was doing it on his app, so I didn’t think too much of it, as soon as it became like a TV show, I was like, uh this is the end.”

Amy told Nota, “But I feel like Cassper can make it work,” which Nota didn’t necessarily agree with based on past incidents. “It’s not about him making it work, it’s about being a TV presenter means that’s the end of your career as a musician.” Amy disagreed with Nota’s statement and said that doesn’t apply to Cassper. The hip hop commentator then shared “why would anyone take your music seriously if you’re going to be interviewing them.” Nota explained that the roles have now become reversed as the rapper becomes the media and is viewed as a presenter going forward by his audience.

“I’ve seen it happen even to the biggest stars, Zola 7 he was a musician super famous and then they used his fame to sell this TV show and then what happened he became a TV presenter and then no one cared about the music anymore”. Whilst Amy got Nota’s point she also expressed that Cassper is different, but Nota reminded her that Zola 7 is not the only rapper, this has happened too.

“It’s career suicide, any rapper that decides to become a TV presenter, hang up the mic, you will never come out and no will ever take you seriously as a musician again.” Nota also made an example of how Jub Jub, who is now a presenter and whilst he may drop a song and people listen to it and there is hype around it but it won’t be enough to revive his music career.
