Reason Explains Why He Failed To Promote His Album ‘Azania’. Most artists have shared how time consuming it is to create an album, what we hear less of is how costly it can be. The money part doesn’t end with creating the project but it continues with marketing it as well.

Rapper Reason has been dubbed one of the most talented lyricists in the country, though he hasn’t attained most out of his career he has done a great share of impressive work. Unfortunately for the rapper he released an album titled Azania which – judging by the sales – didn’t perform too well.

When a fans asked why his masterpiece wasn’t as marketed as well it should have been, he answered honestly that at the time he didn’t have money.

“Truth is… I had no money at the time. I was independent. And I had spent a a lot of money creating it, moving into a new home and preparing for the twins. The only option I had was to sign to a major but they were giving me bad deals. So I DIYed,” he said about the album.

Azania was dropped in 2018 and have had a few singles come out after including July Freestyle, Satan O Wele, Ngyakthanda and Cashless society. He might not be stopping charts but the rapper has been consistent.
