The beef between Cassper and AKA made the game more interesting and the competition to release top-quality music was at a maximum high. Taking to Twitter, Cassper claimed that the competition and rivalry that was there during their early days in SA hip hop propelled the coming of MTV Base Hottest MCs.

The rapper also reminded his followers how he would dominate the chart during that time. “MTV’s hottest MCs was created for my era and I was No.1 for 2 years in a row. The 3rd year I was number 2. Just a thought.” Tweeted Cassper.

In another tweet, Cassper also reminisced how fun it was when he was competing with rappers who took rap very seriously. “I came up when kats were rapping their ass off. We couldn’t wait to hear a new verse from our favourites and our competition. It was fun.” Wrote Cassper.

The rapper might have enjoyed the platform that was presented to SA rapper by MTV, but his late rival AKA had nothing good to say about it. The Supa Mega took a massive jab at the platform in his song Mbuzi from his latest album Mass Country.

The slain rapper stated that not even once was he ranked number 1 considering the impact he imposed on the game. “MTV, let’s only sharpen the blade Not even once did they put me first place,” raps AKA.
