Tattoo Artist Explains Symbolism Behind Tshego’s Controversial Back Tattoo

SA rappers have heavily invested their lifestyle into getting tattoos for different reasons. Some have been inked as a gesture to show love to their loved one whereas some do it just for the love of the art that is part of the culture. However, Tshego‘s back tattoo has stirred controversy over the years as most people purported that the art symbolizes devil worshipping.

Tshego’s back tattoo, referred to as The Eye of Providence, symbolizes the all-seeing eye of God. However, it has often been associated by many with the enigmatic realm commonly referred to as the Illuminati. Taking to Instagram, the tattoo artist behind Tshego’s controversial ink stated that the ink has nothing to do with devil worshipping rather it is an expression of gnarly imagery which is part of the art.

About 98% there on Tshegos back. Started this just before covid hit. Pretty gnarly imagery I had to lay down but this backpiece ain’t about devil worshipping or the anti-christ, FYI. Well done bro, one last little session when I’m back in SA again to tie all the small bits together. đź‘ŤFor bookings: [email protected]/dm,” he wrote.

Even though Tshego and his artist have denied claims that the back tattoo is linked to devil worshipping, the rapper has admitted to having wanted to join the Illuminati. He stated during an interview he stated that the far he has gone was to engage in networking with rich people.

“The far I’ve gotten is just like different societies just a bunch of rich people who come together just like networks, you know networks, private networks but nothing like you do this now you get rich tomorrow,” said Tshego.
