“My husband was sick,” HHP’s Wife Lerato Sengadi Opens Up About His Suicide. The cause behind the sudden death of legendary hip hop star Jabulani Tsambo better known as HHP remained a mystery until recently.

Before the Tswaka rapper passed on he expressed his struggle with depression. For a while it seemed he had everything under control, made songs and hung out with fellow stars. It wasn’t until his death that people were alarmed at the seriousness of his mental and emotional problems. The cause of his death being suicide remained vague until now.

Lerato Sengadi who is a customary wife to the late rapper expressed how the topic of his passing and the cause behind it should be discussed.

Talking to Eusebius McKaiser on 702, Sengadi poured her heart out about dealing with HHP’s death and fighting for her rights.

“My husband was sick – he had a mental illness and he died as a result of the mental illness. The way in which it took him was through suicide,” she said.

“In everything that has been said about me – this is my first time ever talking about any of this stuff – no one has been honest enough to say that he committed suicide, [they keep saying] ‘It’s alleged’. It’s not alleged – that is what happened as a result of mental illness.

“We should be able to have that conversation honestly, because these are things that happen all the time. We can’t be scared to say this person had depression.”
