“Dear Rikhado, Love Riyadh” tribute song was released towards the highly anticipated CottonFest concert. YoungstaCPT was given the opportunity to play the song live on stage in honour of Riky Rick, a big contributor to South African hip hop and the brains behind CottonFest.

Following YoungstaCPT’s heartfelt performance at CottonFest, one of his fans took to Twitter and expressed how people did not give YoungstaCPT‘s tribute song to Riky much attention upon its release.

“Sad how nobody is talking about the song that youngsta cpt wrote for Riky and the wonderful tribute he made for Riky at the Cotton fest last night. Youngsta is so underrated and yet the greatest rapper in South Africa.” Says the tweet.

The Kaapstad rapper went on to give a polite response to how people have reacted to his tribute song. He indicated that his intention was to honour Riky Rick and he doesn’t need people’s approval to do what he did.

It’s the last 7 days of Ramadan so my intention was simply to honour a friend & a great human to us all. I don’t need people’s approval as long as Riky & the few that were moved felt the respect, love & sincerity in my words and actions ✊🏽.” YoungstaCPT responded.

The rest of the song is devoted by YoungstaCPT lauding Riky Rick as the great man he was, speaking on how impacted he was by his death and wishing him eternal peace as well as extending condolences to his family.
