Taking to Instagram, Yanga Chief is one of the people who were close to the slain rappers and he is still failing to come to grips with their sudden deaths. The Xhosa rapper speaks highly of the impact the deceased rappers had on the culture and the legacy they left behind.

Waking up to this reality on a daily basis is so heavy to bear. So many conversations I wish had gone differently. The arrogance to think “we still have time”. Will we ever get over ourselves sisaphila? I’m beyond grateful for what we created Forbes. Not just songs not just memories but we actually changed peoples lives.” He wrote.

Yanga stated that despite the confusion and learning to live with a lot of unanswered questions, he will not let AKA and Costa Titch down. “I’m not sure which direction I’m headed but every day I ask myself what would you do in this situation and without fail I just do it. I will not let your legacy go to waste bro. I’m fighting every day for the dream we both shared. You believed so much in me the least I can do is to believe in myself more. Forbes x Faku = play that shit again!!!” He added.

During AKA’s memorial, Yanga Chief spoke so highly of Kiernan Forbes demonstrating how close they were despite being industry friends. “Kiernan was a blessing to all of us but in this moment I find his soul being a blessing to himself. The same way he offered me prayer in the time of need I would like to do the same for him. May we please bow our heads and pray. Father, in the Mighty name of Jesus we lift up Kiernan in prayer, as we remember his life and the impact he had to those around him. Heavenly Father we ask for your mercy and grace upon Kiernan as he begin his journey to his eternal life” Said Yanga Chief.
