Kabelo Mabalane’s “For King & Country” Album Debuts At #1 On iTunes SA. Kabelo “Bouga Luv” Mabalane is celebrating a major achievement following the release of his latest solo album, For King & Country, which has climbed straight to the number one position on the iTunes South Africa albums chart.
The kwaito veteran shared the exciting news with his followers through a chart screenshot, accompanied by a simple but heartfelt message: “Amen and thank you!” His response reflected his appreciation for the listeners who have embraced the project since its arrival on 30 October 2026.
The chart performance marks a significant moment for the TKZee legend, whose 10th solo album arrives after an 11-year break from releasing a full-length solo project. Its immediate success signals a strong reception from South African music listeners, placing the album ahead of several other releases on the digital chart.
Beyond its chart achievement, For King & Country carries a deeply personal message. The 12-track project explores themes of faith, resilience and national identity, with Kabelo drawing inspiration from his relationship with Jesus Christ. He has explained that the album’s title reflects his commitment to Christ as his King and his desire to use his musical gifts to make a meaningful contribution to South Africa.
The project also honours the memory of his late TKZee bandmate Tokollo “Magesh” Tshabalala. Among its standout moments is “Magesh is Beethoven,” a special dedication that pays tribute to the celebrated musician and the legacy they shared.
Kabelo brings several collaborators into the album’s musical journey, including Ishmael, The Arrows, Rhema Choir, F3 Dipapa, Lux City Music and CFCI Choir. The lead single, “Everybody Needs Somebody,” offered listeners an introduction to the sound and message behind the body of work ahead of its release.
With three decades of experience in the music industry, Kabelo’s return to the solo album space carries significance beyond the numbers. His latest achievement adds another milestone to an already remarkable career, while the project’s central message reflects an artist whose faith continues to shape both his music and purpose.
For King & Country is available to stream on Apple Music and other digital music platforms.
