Speaking in an interview during his visit to the UK via the Beat London 103.6FM, K.O was asked about the legacy he wants to leave behind. This came after expressing the impact AKA had in the game and how he would like to be remembered in the rap game.

“My legacy, when you go back to my story I started off as a group member and that spirit of being able to share whatever was there at the table with my brothers, ended up being the same type of tradition that I even kept with me even outside of the group,” he said.

“When we decided to go solo as group members of Teargas, I went into it and still decided no, I’m not just gonna go out and be an artist and enjoy the benefits all by myself. Im gonna have artists around me and because of my momentum they are also gonna benefit off that,” K.O said. “Back to the question, I want to be remembered as someone who was blessed enough to bless others, that’s basically what my story is supposed to be.”

K.O has been one of the most consistent SA rappers throughout his career, and he hopes to expand his reputation beyond Africa. The rapper reflected on his career and how he wants to see it evolve in a series of tweets. “The dream! I want to be South African hip-hop Black Coffee. I’ve tasted what the world feels like outside South Africa, I’m addicted,” he wrote.

The SkhandaWorld boss was nominated for the BET Awards for Best International Act and he will be keeping his fingers crossed to win the prestigious music award.
