MaE School’s Critic On What He Thinks He Knows About Teargas

MaE takes on a twitter critic who tweets his assumptions about Teargas

MaE school’s critics on what he thinks he knows about Teargas. While solo artists excel in South African Hip-Hop, groups do equally just as well. South African Hip-Hop has seen the likes of Skwatta Camp, Dreamteam, and now most recently Blaq Diamond and MajorSteez. Teargas was one of SA Hip-Hop’s most prominent music groups, the group was last active nine years ago.

Teargas member MaE took to twitter to reply to a critic’s opinion of the music group. In a now deleted tweet, twitter user ChrisExcel102 explained that Ntukza wanted to put more emphasis on his solo work more than on the group’s music.

The twitter user wrote, “You know the funny thing about Ntukza is he’s one that wanted to concentrate on his solo projects more than on Teargas… They eventually broke up because of him. Now look at K.O and Ma-E then look at Ntukza now. Don’t let a little Hype nyana get to your head”.

MaE was quick to respond the tweet telling the twitter user that he doesn’t know what he’s talking about. “You don’t know shit about us individually, about Teargas or the music industry in general, so please hold your fingers right there. When nje just concentrate on thinking hard on what “caption” can make you trend tomorrow and continue to be a famous tweleb… just leave us alone”.

The trio formed in 2004 and their last album together Num8er Num8er was released in 2012. The group has since pursued their individual careers. In 2020 MaE released a single Navigator featuring former band mate K.O. K.O last released a solo project in 2019 titled PTY UnLTD. His single Supa Dupa received a Platinum Plaque. Ntukza was last active in 2018 when he released his El Elyon album.
