Youngsta CPT Gives A Subtle Response After Being Dragged Into A Colourism Debate. Youngsta has consistently spoken out against violence in communities with a high concentration of coloured people. YoungstaCPT is a significant character and voice among Colored people, a group that has not had the privilege of shaping its own narrative.

Recently, YoungstaCPT was dragged into a Twitter debate after an argument surfaced that coloured is a culture and a lived experience and not a race. This came after a tweep stated that Trevor Noah is not coloured but a mixed race.

“Guys don’t embarrass me when we fighting Americans please TREVOR NOAH IS NOT COLOURED, he’s mixed race. Remember colored is a culture and lived experience.” Read the tweet.

In defence of these claims, one of the tweeps went on and used rapper Youngsta CPT’s album T3s as a point of reference to give clarity on the colourism debate. The tweep claimed that it’s very unfortunate that the country didn’t find time to listen to it. “@YoungstaCpt 3Ts album explained ALL Of This…It’s Sad The Country “Slept” on it,” read the tweet.

In response, Youngsta CPT did not want to get too far into the colourism subject, as the rapper carried on, and instead gave a modest rejoinder. The rapper stated that he is now used to the behaviour of people not undermining coloured people. “It’s okay, we used to it,” tweeted Youngsta CPT.

YoungstaCPT is incredibly enthusiastic about his race and his hometown, but he isn’t afraid to talk about its flaws, such as the Western Cape and Cape Town’s high crime rates and the government’s neglect of people of colour.

YoungstaCPT, however, is aware of the subtleties that contribute to his people’s struggles, unlike an impartial observer. The 3Ts project gives a perfect picture of the daily struggles that are being faced by the people of Kaapstad.
