Their music has entranced audiences nationwide, garnering support from industry heavyweights like AKA and Cassper Nyovest. Prior to the tragic passing of AKA, the Asbonge hitmakers had the chance to make a song with one of the best rappers in the country titled Smooth Operator.

The song has already made its way to the music streaming platforms at midnight following up on the announcement they made during the week. Nonetheless, in a conversation with Zingah on Choppin’ It With Bhudha T Podcast prior to the song’s release, MajorSteez disclosed that AKA was so enamoured with the track that he expressed interest in buying it from the hip-hop duo and making it his own.

“The thing about this song guys, Kiernan tried to buy this song from us, he wanted to buy this song. He called Major and I at 3:00 in the morning those were his operating hours,” said MajorSteez. “I’m sure he had been listening to the song months after making it and he was like yo how much do you want for the record man. He’s like I will give you a R100K now for the song.”

MajorSteez added that AKA made the offer during the early stages when the late rapper was making his posthumous Mass Country album. “He was in the early stages of making Mass Country, so I think he was considering it for Mass Country, I’m like nah boyzin, we need the song man and he was like good it was a test. It wasn’t the test, he wanted the song,” Majorsteez added.
