Slimes Fire Back At MacG After Remarks That A-Reece Is “Committed To Failure”

MacG who is known for his outspoken demeanour made comments insinuating that A-Reece one of the most prominent figures in the country’s hip-hop scene is “committed to failure.” Speaking during the recent Podcast And Chill episode, MacG engaged in a conversation with his co-hosts on who they would allow their daughters to date amongst the current SA rappers.

In a bid to bring A-Reece into the conversation, the controversial podcaster described the rapper as someone who is committed to failure. “You dont know A-Reece? The guy who’s committed to failure,” MacG said addressing Ghost Lady. “He’s committed to failure dawg when it’s time to grow, he’s like uh uh, I dont want to grow, I’m good. Im comfortable, you say to him let’s go to America, and he says uh uh,” MacG added.

MacG’s statement he made during the podcast episode triggered a significant backlash from A-Reece’s fans leading to widespread debates on social media platform Twitter (X). Fans of A-Reece have vehemently opposed MacG’s assertions with some going as far as unsubscribing to the popular Podcast.

However, this is not the first time A-Reece has been criticized by content creators for not taking his rap career seriously. The rapper has been criticized for allowing his girlfriend Rickelle Jones to be part of his music career, prompting that it’s slowing his progress.

“She can’t even secure deals, like brand deals for the Boy, and I know you guys are going to tell me about the Hennessy thing that happened. That was just a once-off thing, they couldn’t sell Vans long ago, and they couldn’t sell Nike these are 60km/hr I’m talking about. I feel like she’s a wall between A-Reece and other artists and other brands.” Said a TikToker Thakgiabhorshuman.

With all the noise that has been echoed about his rap career, The Boy appeared to not be moved by any form of criticism. Speaking during an interview at his album launch, A-Reece said that he doesn’t pay attention to any social media criticism because he trusts the people he spends time with in the studio and his team.

“I dont give a damn about the critique, for real because you know why? When I’m in the studio I’m with honest people. The people that I’m around in the studio are honest with me and I value their opinions, because why? They have experience,” A-Reece said.
