Reason On His Verse Being Compared To The One Of Blaklez On #DMXPrayer

Reason Speaks On His Verse Being Compared To The One Of Blaklez On #DMXPrayer. No matter how hard artists try to shy away from being compared to those in the same field as them, it happens inevitably.

Blaklez and Reason dropped a single earlier this year titled DMX prayer. What made the song even more interesting to rap fans was the lyrical delivery which both artists gave best of. Even with how good it was, fans had to compare who delivered the best verse.

“#DMXPrayer just reminded me that as a lyricist, in the process to being the best in what you do, you don’t want to murder a rapper but the process entails murdering a rapper for your to reach your objective. @Blaklez & @ReasonHD brought their A game on this one,” tweeted a fan.

Reason came into defence of the comparison and said that the aim for lyricist isn’t to murder each other but the song.

“No pah. We focus on killing the song. Not each other. @Blaklez intentionally wrote his verse slower because he heard I was going fast,” wrote Reason.

In addition he stated that artists try to avoid these comparisons because they always overshadow the bigger picture – which is the actual song.

“To avoid these comparisons that take away from the bigger picture. Which is telling a beautiful story. Das what Lyricists do. They write stories,” he added.
